The Center for Supporting Motherhood, founded in 2002, is an independent section of the Scientific Medical Association A.P.P.A.C. (Association of Psychology and Psychiatry for Adults and Children), member of the Athens Medical Society.
The Center was created to respond to the range of significant and particular needs of motherhood and parenthood.
C.S.M.'s main objective is the support of motherhood's every aspect, approaching and dealing with issues concerning psychology of reproduction, perinatal depression, infertility, pregnancy, premature birth, loss, foster care and adoption.
For this reason C.S.M. continuously develops through research projects, training of health care professionals, organization of scientific symposia and conferences, collaboration with state agencies and scientific publications.
In continuous progress, the Center collaborates with distinguished scientists and experts such as gynecologists, obstetricians, midwifes, pediatricians, neonatologists, psychologists, child psychiatrists and social workers. 
The Center for Supporting Motherhood intends to be a valuable aid to the significant and unique role of parenthood, within the perinatal psychology spectrum, providing valid scientific information and timely intervention.
